SAKKARRA CHINESE CRESTEDS

Jan 2005-07

I am posting this as our basic standing policy. I base my policies on several contracts from well established breeders who have ran into almost all situations, so there are some basic rules.

BEFORE entering any transaction you will be provided with videos, emails, and photographs over a period of time. An honest evaluation of temperament will be given and quality.

BECAUSE: I have bought dogs with a few pictures only, trusting the breeder wouldnt send a poor representation. I was wrong. I have contracts that list the color and when the papers came, it had been registered a different color, before I entered the picture but sold for a "rare" color. I bought a year old black puff, and a slate HHL was sent shaved and her papers later listed her as blue and cream: never black. I bought a crested who moved so pretty, luckily as her skin was so riddled with infections and acne it was horrible and smelled, but all was overshadowed when she went into the ring the first time to snap at the judge! The breeder would not replace her or offer anything for what I actually paid for.

And a  hyper dog will not be happy in a low energy home, and vice versa. So honesty is the best policy. We do not sell much and want the best homes tailored to that dog.

When a dog is shipped, all costs are the responsibilty of the buyer as with any purchase including vet fees, crate and actual shipping even if fees come up unexpected(change in air price). In some cases a handler may transport but they charge for time and space. They cannot have unentered dogs at a show so fees must be prepaid, and unless I know you, I do not do this: as I like shipping and tracking information in case of shennanighans. Ebay has taught me this. If you do not stick a delivery confirmation on it, there is no seller protection as its untrackable. The same vet papers as with shipping by air are needed to cross state lines and be on AKC property. I am not responsible for shipping your items. Plus last year I went to a CC specialty to meet a person bringing me back a girl from Texas after complaining about her as she wasnt "dark enough," I entered 4 dogs and at the end of the show they enver produced the dog, during the show didnt say one word outside the ring,  and I followed them to their Rv at the end- NEVER prodcuced my dog. Then sell her as top show quality a month later.

My part contributed for shipping is my time traveling to the vet, waiting almost 2 hours as only one vet does vet state health shipping certificates and hes "walk in," no appointments. 2 hour trip. 1-2 hours finding a crate with proper size and head clearance meeting the airlines guidelines. A handler charges upwards to 135.00 for 10 mins at a show, so covering time invested at your behalf, at the buyers request is valueable to me and a service performed.

Then a 3 hour trip to the airport. Once at the airport documentation, bowls properly placed, another inspection for bombs/etc while I have to wait, bedding, food attached, toys(not stuffed as they arent allowed but chew) paperwork and emergency info all proper and meeting airlines safety and guidelines.

So for me, the extra 10 hours to ship the animal is a labor of love. I just charge the costs of actual shipping/crate/vet certificate. I do not deviate from this and shipping is a separate cost from the dogs purchase price.

If you return a dog, this is at your costs. It is not my responsibilty to meet you by traveling a long distance.

I only offer a refund if the dog is returned within 48 hours due to a life threatening health issue as we use a vet to inspect the dog and verify its health and supply a certificate before shipping. For 20.00 you can insure the dog up to 1500.00 on Continental. If it is the airlines fault I had no control over that. We do not accept personal checks due to a family coming to my house, visiting for 6 hours then writing a check on a closed account and we have way to verify them until its too late. By the time we caught up with him, he was in jail(felony fraud) as I was the 5th breeder he had done this too. I met Deb from Vanator Kennels this way, as she was a victim, so weird. That gentleman had 4 children and was in jail over 2 other dog transactions- it was awful. We do not allow the dog to leave the premises with a uncleared web payment or Echeck(Paypal)until after it clears. If the account is newer with less than 10 transactions, we do not accept it as it will say "Seller Protection Ineligible." We do not accept Paypal with an unconfirmed address or address different than what is given or used as I HAVE to ship to that address to protect me self per Paypal.

If a show dog and a fault develops, it can be returned at your expense and when deemed unshowable by 3 breeders knowledgeable in the breed per AKC standard, replaced. A replacement is free or for the terms the first dog was on, but you must pay all shipping expenses. Due to enviroment, exposure, food , care, stress, overcrowding, vaccinations and factors not in my control no refunds will be offered, only replacements. At the time of shipping, especially on a puppy, an honest evaluation is crucial as the above can affect development. If a pet placement, spay or neutering must be proven before AKC papers are sent. If 30 days pass without contact from the buyer with agreed balance  still being owed without permission from me to extend the date or a signed contract with payments, the dog is considered unpaid for and still my property. Any monies paid will be forfeit as we use that to recoup the property by legal means.

I have had a person keep a dog 6 months, demand to meet me out of state, never produce the dog and a laundary list of complaints. Then a month later she sold the dog literally stating "perfect and show quality for a foundation". I saw her go through about 10 dogs since then, so its the collector type. Videos, pictures, and weekly development profiles sent. And thats why.

I do not want my dogs in an overcrowded house, kennel or just one of many. The chinese crested is a family dog that needs human attention. We only breed for ourselves when we want a new dog to show or to enhance our bloodlines. This is a hobby and any "sale" is an adoption fee. I do not sell to people in apartments as I think they need sunlight and a yard unless they are the only dog. I do not sell to people with very young children as the chinese crested is very delicate and likes to walk on shoulders.

I ask a deposit of 1/4 of total cost of dog and shipping. Especially if the dog needs to stay a longer time due to out of country shipping and has certain requirements to meeting International shipping standards. Exceptions may be made with permission depending on the situation. A deposit is paying for a service of keeping the dog for you in your name. Taking the dog off the market and telling others they are spoken for. Things do happen. if you can no longer purchase the dog or if you have misrepresented your situation, if less than 2 weeks, a refund will be granted of your deposit. After that, no refund will be forthcoming, or if you have misrepresnted your situation, you will not get a refund of a deposit as you paid for the service and it was performed: I took down advertising of sale of that dog in good faith of your purchase.  Likewise, if you cannot continue with the transaction or notify me you have "changed your mind" then however long I held the dog for you, I reserve that right x 2 to resell the dog before any monies are sent back. Refunds on deposit will not be returned if over 2 weeks and it was the buyers descision to break the agreement.

When out of country sometimes it may take 4-5 months from birth to actually ship the dog. All fees in vet expenses( as if with a new owner then boosters, rabies, and checups wouldnt be my costs) tests related to shipping((plus extra International tests like Titers and Microchip eeded to ship), and a small boarding fee will be deducted from principle balance(not deposit) $2.33 per day after 30 days(compared to 14-25.00 for boarding kennels a day). Grooming, care, training, excercise and social intercation go into keeping a puppy and its hours each day for an extra one.

I state this as several years ago a lady stated she had 3 dogs and wanted a pet. Turns out she was a licensed USDA dealers and had around 63 in a designer dog operation. But she had lied at first on a few small things, and I gave her the benefit of the doubt that I misunderstood, so it was on me not to stop the transaction when the red flag appeared. So if you mispresent yourself, or act with bad character, you will not get a refund on a deposit.

I want to keep the purchase of a puppy a happy and pleasant transaction for the people and the PUPPY. they are God's creatures with little souls, and I strive to protect them and preserve that. Please respect my wishes and if you do not agree with the terms above, do not contact me. It saves everyone a stressful transaction. I have been a buyer more than a sell, and believe me, its for both sides happiness.

11/11 Plus one thing to note in this day of social media. I mention this as last Oct I placed a puppy with a Swedish lady and after several weeks of late payments on just getting a deposit plus fake transaction numbers that never did show up, she defaulted on the agreement. I put the dog back up for sale and refunded her money minus deposit for 2 months of headaches. Well of course she gets on Facebook and just lies saying she was taken advantage of and never got her money etc. Heres the RECEIPT.

She then proceeded to start contacting the new buyer plus another puppy buyer to block their transaction after we went into agreements. Here in the USA thats Tortious Interference of an economic transaction.  I refunded her and she still just told wild stories and defamed me. So if anything happens when the BUYER decides not to follow through on the transaction -such as cant come up with the money, divorce, family illness etc- if the buyer decides to defame me and my kennel and the result is a loss of monetary value on my dog for sale, for whatever reason, monies back will be less to none depending on how severe. As adults we should have respect for one another so I will not stand for malicious actions in actions or verbage againts myself when in good faith I held an animal and blocked all sales to ensure my agreement to the Buyer. If the buyers actions make the dogs value go down, as to drama and dubious reporting, then any obligation will be waved in reference to money back.

If my "product" is made "worthless" by the sellers actions, then thats what they will get- fair value in the current market. I see to many dog people just get nasty in an instant and try to block anyone else trying to have enjoyment if they cant buy it themselves. This is not acceptable.

Since its been a gossip item on a list I am not on heres my response IN an email about some slander:

Hi there, I do not know you or what list it was from so I cant respond of course...but you asked about a few transactions I had...nightmares. I know I have read a lot about you too, and know how twisted things can get.
Denize "Gizmo" placed a deposit on a  puppy from me in Oct (DOB 10-11-11). She was supposed to pay payments, and kept defaulting and shorting me on them (literally checks lost in the mail) and the lady from a kennel of afghans said Denize had dirty dogs and my dog would not do well there after I inquired as something was weird. After the 3rd payment was short 80.00 again, and I heard she was trading future puppies from my dog to currently get other dogs, she didn't deny it but couldn't pay her payments. I returned all money except her deposit. Denizes friend, A, was buying the littermate. Denize still owed $1500.00 by the way (balance plus shipping).
The dog was resold to another lady in Sweden and they were to be shipped over when old enough by law together. The Swedish people threw a fit as they wanted them sent over early and I wouldn't lie on paperwork, by law I had to wait till they could get a rabies titers test (shot then wait 21 days) and that itself was a 280.00 test for the type Sweden needed for entry. They had been paying payments. The week the dogs were due to be sent I billed each for the remainder owed to ship- about $800 as both needed titers tests. I had held these dogs for 4 months through winter and footed all bills plus extra testing needed for that country. M was upset the dog wasn't sent sooner, but by law she couldn't be.

She still owed about $600 for ($100 was overnight kenneling by airport, test and shipping remainder), A still owed $800 same plus more on dog. 3 days before the shipping date which was 21 days past rabies so titers needed to be done(Rabies Titre / FAVN-OIE Test: This test needs to be done 120 days after the most recent rabies shot), when I asked for money to complete these transactions M backed out and publically said I should pay $500 in good faith and let her pay me back after dogs were there, she said this on a Fb list when they did this 2 years ago when they acted like they had no fault in this. Anne said she would still pay but the next week, she didn't. She then claimed divorce and family illness.  The day before shipping they were already on Fb bashing me and when it came to light they hadn't paid shipping- Meta had it all removed from the list.
I keep these 2 dogs 4 months as it was winter and Swedish law needed tests we don't do, and basically no one would buy these two dogs after as these two got on and basically said their money was stolen. I do not know what list this is on and I have shipped dogs after- its like magic when people pay shipping dogs get shipped. I cant defend myself as I do not know what list its on. ...so please stop this if its your list...as I can produce all correspondence when THEY backed out. And my policies are clear if they back out they are charged boarding and costs, esp since they had not paid in full to GET the dogs and the dogs were stuck here over 4 months waiting...just to be back out on.

How much would 4 months of VET/ SHOTS/board/food/exercise plus $600 per dog in tests add(microchip number, Rabies Titre / FAVN-OIE Test, EU Veterinary Certificate , passport plus International Health Certificate, Echinococcus Treatment ) up to where YOU are? It added up to about what they paid so far as they hadn't paid for tests or shipping in full yet...
